Balzunetta Towers is a contemporary theatrical cabaret. This original show treats one of Malta’s most flagrant well-kept secrets – Balzunetta – known as Strait Street’s naughtier sister, albeit in Floriana. It showcases the stories of one of Malta’s most outrageous spaces during some of the islands’ most gripping epochs. On top of this, these stories are juxtaposed with present realities. The show will be an interactive spectacle where the audience can be asked to intervene. Pjazza Teatru Rjal will be turned into a spectacular cabaret stage featuring a live orchestra and some of Malta’s finest voices, actors and dancers.
The cabaret will feature an original jazz score by Dominic Galea, with text by Alfred Sant and poet Albert Marshall. The work is being produced and directed by Sean Buhagiar.
